Veto Privacy Policy

Veto is designed to be as private as possible. We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect any personal information. Any data collected is completely anonymous and is never shared with third parties for marketing, advertising, or any other commercial purpose.
What we collect
We collect nothing that identifies you. The app uses anonymous authentication so you can start using Veto instantly without providing a name, email address, or any other personal details. Groups and their activity are stored temporarily to power the real-time veto feature and are not linked to any individual.
Crash reporting
Veto uses Firebase Crashlytics to automatically collect anonymous crash reports when the app encounters an unexpected error. These reports contain technical details about the crash (such as a stack trace and device model) but contain no personally identifiable information — they cannot be traced back to you or your activity. Crash data is processed by Firebase (Google) solely to help us identify and fix bugs. It is never used for advertising or shared with any other third party.
Analytics
Veto uses Firebase Analytics to collect completely anonymous usage data such as how often certain features are used (for example, how many times a group is created or a veto is cast). This data contains no personally identifiable information — no names, no user identifiers, no group names, and no content of any kind. It cannot be traced back to you. Analytics data is used solely to understand which features are most useful so we can improve the app, and is never shared with any third party for advertising, marketing, or any other commercial purpose.
Advertising
Veto displays ads provided by Google AdMob. Google may use device identifiers and other non-personal signals to serve relevant ads. You can review Google's privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy. On iOS you will be asked for permission before any advertising identifier is accessed.
Push notifications
Veto requests permission to send push notifications for one purpose only: to alert your group when everyone has pressed Veto. We will never send marketing messages, reminders, or any other unsolicited notifications. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
In-app purchases
Optional in-app purchases are handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your payment details.
Third-party services
Veto uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Firebase — anonymous authentication, real-time data sync, anonymous crash reporting (Crashlytics), and anonymous usage analytics (Firebase Analytics)
- Google AdMob — in-app advertising
- Apple App Store / Google Play — in-app purchases
Children
Veto is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above. Continued use of the app after any change constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
